My name is Henry Holman and I am a game engine, gameplay, and graphics programmer from Chicago, IL.

Allow me to introduce myself…

Gamer. Learner. Programmer. Leader. I am a lot of things, and I like to do a lot of things. But this is where you can learn about what makes me great for a career in game development. You can read more about me here, and see my work here.

  • I have experience implementing common game programming patterns in C++ to build an optimized yet flexible codebase. If the designers want it, I can program it.

  • Using a deep, intuitive understanding of both programming and usability, I pride myself on making game engines that are just as efficient as they are easy to use. To date I have written two of my own game engines in C++ and learned a lot about engine architecture and optimization, from both formal education and firsthand experience.

  • The mindset of a systems programmer and a graphics programmer should be similar, in my opinion. Make it easy to use for the systems programmers, and optimize it so that everyone’s hard work can look beautiful for players.
